B2B ordering portal for wholesalers and manufacturers

Customers order by email, by phone and through your sales reps, and you retype it all into your system. A B2B ordering portal lets them order on their own – and the orders go straight into your system.

Online ordering for trade customers without retyping

In wholesale and manufacturing, orders arrive a different way every day: an email with a spreadsheet, a photo of a list, a call to a sales rep, a message late at night. Someone then retypes them into inventory or the ERP, checks the prices and sends a confirmation.

On top of that, each customer has different prices, discounts, payment terms or minimum order. A general online store can't do that, and large systems are expensive to adapt. The result is price mistakes, late confirmations and sales reps retyping orders instead of selling.

A custom B2B ordering system follows your process: each customer sees their range and their prices, orders on their own, and the order flows into inventory, the ERP and accounting with no retyping.

Where it hurts today

  • Orders arrive by email, phone and through sales reps in all kinds of formats.
  • Someone has to retype them into inventory or the ERP, and mistakes creep in.
  • Customer-specific prices and terms live in someone's head or a spreadsheet.
  • Customers can't see stock or the status of their order, so they call.
  • A general online store can't handle your B2B terms, and a large system is expensive to adapt.

What the B2B portal does

Customers order on their own

Each customer has their own login, sees their range and can order any time, including outside office hours. They can repeat a previous order.

Their prices and terms

The portal shows prices, discounts, payment terms and other conditions exactly as agreed with each customer.

Orders go straight into your system

Each order lands in your inventory, ERP and accounting with no retyping – we build the integration around whatever API or export your system offers.

Orders from email

Customers who keep sending orders by email or as attachments are fine: the system can read them and pre-fill them for a quick check.

Order status and documents

Customers see the status of their order and find delivery notes and invoices with it. Fewer calls asking where the goods are.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    A 30-minute call

We go through how orders reach you today, where they get retyped and what slows you down. No strings attached, and you don't need a specification.

  2. Step 2

    Scope and price up front

We pick the smallest piece that delivers real value – for example ordering for selected customers connected to inventory – and agree the scope and price before we start.

  3. Step 3

First working version in about 3 weeks

We build it and try it with a few customers. We show progress as we go and adjust based on their experience.

  4. Step 4

    Month by month

We add more customers, features and integrations based on what real use shows. You own the code and documentation, running it with us is optional, and you can stop any time.

What it costs

Development

$1,900per month of work

Development is charged per month of work. Smaller jobs take only part of a month and cost proportionally less – we agree the scope and price up front. A small app is usually done in a few weeks, a bigger one in 2–3 months. No commitment, month to month.

Running it (optional)

The code and documentation are yours – run it yourself or anywhere you like. If you'd rather not deal with it, we're happy to host and look after it.

Small app (up to 5 users)
$199per month
Standard
$390per month

Bug fixes are included in running costs; new features are built as further development (same rate, price agreed up front).

Common questions

How much does a custom B2B ordering portal cost?

Development is charged at a rate per month of work – see What it costs for the amount. Smaller jobs take only part of a month and cost proportionally less; we agree the scope and price up front. Running it with us is optional and billed monthly, with no fee per customer or user.

When is it not worth it?

If you have a few customers on the same prices and the ready-made B2B module of your system or online store works for you without changes, keep it. A custom portal pays off where you have customer-specific prices and terms, orders get retyped by hand, or an off-the-shelf solution can't connect to your inventory and ERP.

Will the portal connect to our ERP and accounting?

Yes, as long as your system offers an API or export. Orders then go straight into inventory, the ERP and accounting. On the first call we look at what your system supports and design the integration around it.

Do all customers have to switch at once?

No. You can start with a few customers while the rest keep emailing orders – the system can read them and pre-fill them for a quick check.

Won't we be locked in?

No. You own the code and documentation from day one. You can run the portal yourself or anywhere you like, and another developer can take it further.

Custom software instead of a box

We build every solution the same way: for exactly how you work, connected to what you already use, and you own the code and documentation.
